Together We're paving the Way to a promising Future!!!
From the rumble-filled “Harley Day” at MDA summer camp to pledge rides that draw thousands of riders, MDA has been on the road to a cure with the legendary motorcycle manufacturer since 1980. Since then, the Harley-Davidson family of customers, dealers, suppliers and employees has raised more than $60 million to aid research and program services for children and adults with muscular dystrophy. The funds raised support life-saving research, comprehensive medical care for children and adults with neuromuscular disease, and MDA summer camps. Harley-Davidson customers, dealers, suppliers and employees are committed to improving their communities and helping others, and our support of MDA has enabled riders to work together for a common cause. The hard work of Harley enthusiasts helps make life brighter for people with muscular dystrophy and helps make strides in finding a cure. For more information, visit the MDA site at www.mda.org or www.mdarides.org for additional information.

MDA Summer Camp – Escort to Camp Sunshine – Sunday, May 24th, 2009
For many kids, is simply “the best week of the year.” Some even call it “better than Christmas.”
Plan to join the Baton Rouge H.O.G. group on Sunday, May 24th, 2009 for the Annual MDA Escort to Camp Sunshine, Bunkie, LA. Plan to be at the dealership by 10:00 am to help load buses and depart when the New Orleans group arrives around 11:30am. "This is a chance for us to be the majority instead of the minority."- MDA Camper.
They’re talking about MDA summer camp – a fun-filled week for children with neuromuscular diseases that takes place at over 90 different camps across the country. MDA summer camp is a week that is free of the barriers that might ordinarily get in the way of fun for a child who uses a wheelchair or has other mobility limitations. Campers enjoy accessible activities like swimming, horseback riding, arts and crafts, sports and games, and making lifelong friendships with kids who are living with similar challenges. Parents enjoy a week of respite from what can be an intense schedule of caring for their child’s special health needs. H.O.G. chapters and enthusiasts add to the fun at dozens of camps with “Harley-Davidson Day” – another highlight that usually begins with the unmistakable thunder of a parade of bikes entering the campsite. "Many campers treasure the chance to sit on a bike for the first time! Many even dress the part with a temporary tattoo, bandana and some leather for the day. H.O.G. members often find the day to be just as memorable for them, and make it an annual summer event." To learn how you can get involved and attend or volunteer at MDA summer camp please call the MDA Office of Baton Rouge at 225-761-7010.
